30" × 24" | Acrylic, oil, and natural materials on canvas
Some days become memories before they're even over.
Other Side of Paradise began on a beach with my sons, collecting shells and sand dollars along the shore. There was nothing particularly extraordinary about the day, except that somehow everything was. The water, the light, the small treasures gathered in our hands. For a few hours, it felt like paradise.
The shells and sand dollars we collected that day became part of the painting itself, worked into acrylic and oil. A little piece of the afternoon preserved, and a reminder that sometimes paradise is simply being exactly where you are.
